Welcome to the August 2024 edition of our newsletter! We are fully recovered from Gen Con and are ready to show off all the fun we had at the con and provide exciting updates for each of our current projects. We even have some fun extra announcements for you all that you won’t want to miss!
Gen Con 2024!
Thank you to everyone who came out to see us at our booth this year! As always we did hundreds of demos and no one from our booth could talk for days after the con, but we wouldn’t have it any other way <3. It is always amazing to see everyone at the concollecting souls,exploring their apartment complex,gaining subscribers, and more! Make sure to stop by next year where we will have over half a dozen games for sale and plenty more happy moments to share with you all :)

Disney’s Donald Duck in Happy Camper Announcement!
Woah! Maestro Media pairing with Disney?! That’s right everyone, we are partnering with Disney to bring you Disney’s Donald Duck in Happy Camper to celebrate Donald’s 90 year anniversary!
Designed by the award-winning duo of Wolfgang Kramer and Daryl Andrews, join Troop Leader Donald as the Ducks set out to camp! In Disney's Donald Duck in Happy Camper, you will race to explore the wilderness, set up camp, take scenic photos, and earn badges. Starting with an unexplored board, you reveal tiles and gather resources on their turn. But watch out, the more you have in your bag, the slower you go. Will you race to the best photo spot or set up tents in different terrains? There are bigger bonuses for being the first to complete a task, so plan carefully as you race to become the best happy camper!

Sally Face: Strange Nightmares
Seeing everyone explore Addison apartments was a joy! Last Gen Con we had a very early prototype of the game and we were happy to see everyone's excitement regarding the progress from then to our pre-production copies shown this year! All of the Quality of Life changes we made to the game since then really make it feel complete and it showed at the tables!
Sally Face: Strange Nightmares will begin to ship in December of this year! Additionally, for those who haven’t seen it, Steve made an awesome video showing off all the approved merch on his Instagramhere. Lots of great-looking stuff there. Headphone users beware, you’re in for a scare…
Outside of the Gen Con festivities, we are happy to join everyone in celebrating 8 remarkable years of Sally Face. This game has left a lasting impact thanks to the visionary Steve Gabry! While our board game is relatively new compared to Sally Face as a whole, much of the Maestro Team loved playing through the video game and we are excited for what Sally Face has in store for the future!
Additionally, happy belated birthday to the man himself! Steve, your creativity continues to inspire us all. We’re deeply grateful for our partnership and hope your birthday was as amazing as you are <3
Similar to Strange Nightmares, this was Hello Kitty’s second trip to Gen Con and yet again people were in love with the pre-production copy. The cards, tokens, and characters drew in people of all ages as the universally cute Hello Kitty just seems to have that pull (and how could you ever resist?) With an emphasis on the game growing as you do, both the easy and advanced rule sets saw plenty of play each day!
In Hello Kitty’sKickstarter update, we discussed a November fulfillment start date and more about the convention, so go ahead and check that out for more info! :)
For the first time, Smurfs: Hidden Village was available for play at Gen Con! As with our other games at the Con, people had a great time. Our younger audience loved the interactivity of the board game components themselves (especially flipping the mushroom tops when the homes were complete) while everyone (including some stuffed animals?) had a smurftastic time saving the Smurfs from Gargamel and his evil minions!
Smurfs: Hidden Village orders will begin to ship in December just before the holiday season! Thank you to everyone who came to try the game out for the first time. We hope to see you again next year to sing a happy song :)
The Smurfs Roleplaying Game
In case you missed it, we also had an exciting live session of the Smurfs RPG at Gen Con, featuring a stellar lineup of talent, including Jason Azevedo as the Storyteller, Christian Navarro as Poet Smurf, Clint McElroy as Papa Smurf, Kasey Girven as Brainy Smurf, and Grant Lyon as Jokey Smurf. While we can’t quite share the video yet, but we will as soon as we can on our website and in the next newsletter!

We will be at Essen (SPIEL)!
Maestro Media will be attending Essen (SPIEL) 2024, the world’s largest board game event, from October 3rd to the 6th in Essen, Germany. We are looking forward to seeing many of you there as we show off our games! We will provide more booth-specific info in the September edition of our newsletter as well as on our social media, so stay tuned for more!
